HTC One X Factory Reset Fix Bugs and Problem Issues

If you have a  HTC One X at hand and notice some bugs and issues regarding your device and wanted to fix it accordingly the only solution for now is by doing a factory reset. This is only a temporary option just for now until your device will get a new OTA firmware updates. I hope for those who plans on buying the the HTC One X, please dont get disappointed, this is only some minor glitches from the software and also happens on some other Android devices. As I already mentioned, this can be easily fix by another software update sooner, but until there is no update yet, this is the simplest solution.

Heres a known bugs and issues that have reported by HTC One X users that have been brought together   from XDA-Developer forum. Thanks to H-Cim for starting the thread and all the HTC One X users who participated and came up with some known bugs and issues altogether.

Bugs
  • Screen stops turning orientation, even in settings menu G-sensor no longer moves. - POSSIBLE FIX : Go to taskmanager and kill all tasks - All credit and thanks go to casca
  • Calendar widget crashes if more then 20 appointments - TIP : Just remove the widget since it will keep crashing until you remove it...
  • Other HTC widgets seem to be causing lag too.
  • GPU Rendering cant be forced.
  • Live wallpaper stops on switching between screens
  • GPS issues - Possible fix : Download gps status on the market and clear the a-gps data - if this works all credit and thanks go to matmar
  • Screen starts "jumping"
  • When browsing/camera/other Sense 4.0 related tasks -> It looks like there is "noise" on the screen. Like this
  • SIM card stops working/restarts/no connection
  • The three dot menu button appears in some ICS native apps, like the YouTube app for example. - Fix for this in Dev section (requires unlock)
  • Tegra 3 games (and some others) lag, this is probably connect to some video driver bug. (Hardware is fast enouf to play it without lag)
  • Screen reactivating after using the lock-button (only 1 click ofc)
  • When opening the Clock app (just by pressing the clock on your homescreen), and moving to the Timer-tab (the one on the far right) it always adds one hour, one minute and one second to whatever time you set it to.
Issues
  • Lag in Multi-Tasking window and other elements - TIP : Go to Dev Settings - disable animations. This improved the speed a lot for me (even thou most animations keep on running, only the excessive ones get turned off) [This lag is clearly a software issue, other launchers are lag-free; should be fixed soon]
  • A lot of people are reporting signal problems. (No clue whats causing it)
  • Yellow spots on the screen
Heres how to Factory Reset the HTC One X.

If you’re passing HTC One X on to someone else or HTC One X has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset).

Warning: Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you’ve downloaded and installed. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset from settings

   1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap .
   2. Tap Storage > Factory data reset.
   3. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC One X on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One X.

   1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
   2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
   3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

If the problem still persist after performing hard reset, you might need to wait the new OTA software update from HTC. A software update fro HTC devs will only fix all known bugs and issues mentioned above for your HTC One X.

HTC HD2 does it again gets booted up by Nokia Xs forked Android OS

HTC HD2 running the forked Android OS from the Nokia X
The HTC HD2 is the phone that never dies. Back in 2009, the handsets 4.3 inch screen seemed humungous among a crowd of 3.2 inch and 3.5 inch devices. Originally powered by Windows Mobile Professional 6.5, over the years we have seen Windows Phone 7Windows Phone 7 and AndroidWindows Phone 8Windows RT and Firefox OS shoehorned into the handset.

Today, thanks to one of the guys at XDA, we can now add the forked Android OS running the Nokia X to the list of operating systems that has powered the HTC HD2 at one time. Before you start reaching for your old HTC HD2 collecting dust in a drawer, the port isnt bring much in the way of working features to the old gal. Outside of the boot graphics and sound, nothing else is working. Of course, we need to consider that the HTC HD2 is powered by a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon S1 with 448MB of RAM. Eventually, we expect to see the gang at XDA working hard to bring over more functions from the forked Android OS.

The HTC HD2 continues to live on, as best as you could hope for a phone that sports technology half a decade old. Like the cockroach, this is one handset that cannot be killed off.

HTC given KitKat code to Google for HTC One Google Play Edition

HTC America Tweeted on Friday that HTC has sent Android 4.4 KitKat code to Google for the HTC One Google Play Edition. HTC America president Jason Mackenzie said Android 4.4 KitKat would be on the phone in just 15 days. HTC One Google Play Edition receives Android Updates faster than any other HTC One variant. Now it depends on Google how fast Google will release the update. HTC wanted to provide the update within 15 days.

On the last day of October a report said that HTC One Google Play Edition will get Android 4.4 KitKat update in 15 days the same report also stated that HTC One Google Play Edition will get the update in 30 days, and carrier branded HTC One will receive the update in 90 days. We are not sure exactly when the HTC One Developer Edition is gonna get the update because 15 days has been passed still no details on the Android 4.4 KitKat update. HTC doesnt have a good reputation in updating their devices. We should better wait and see what happens next.

Boxed HTC One 2014 unit hits eBay is quickly sold for 499 99

As we guessed earlier today, we are back with yet another HTC One (M8)-related leak before the day is even out. This time around, some sneaky person has apparently, somehow, managed to get his hands on a Verizon-branded, fully-boxed HTC M8 and has already managed to sell it on eBay after a short bidding exchange that saw the price shoot up from the initial asking price of $199 all the way up to $499.99.

The loosely-controlled stock of the HTC One 2014 is nothing new -- weve been reporting on leak after leak this past week. Whats new, however, is that HTC has obviously decided to stick to the same flagship name, as seen from the actual retail packaging. Thats a rather strange, not to mention confusing, decision, so it wouldnt be surprising if we end up referring to its new top shelfer as the HTC One 2014.

Whilst were still on the topic of the box, its worth pointing out that much of the rumored specs seem to be on target. The packaging clearly states that the 5-incher will, indeed, come packing a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor along with 2GB of DDR2 RAM. The Duo Camera will, as rumored, boast UltraPixel tech, though the exact pixel count isnt being disclosed. This doesnt hold true for the front camera, however, so expect a 5-megapixel BSI unit with wide angle, HDR-capable lens, and support for 1080p video capture.
